Baby Bell Boy Bursts Onto Scene

Many of you have seen pictures posted on Facebook but in order to cater to the older set, here you go:

Behold!  It came to pass Jett David Bell was born on the morning of the 31st to much praise and thanksgiving.  His cherubic appearance had the nurses needing medical attention themselves, for no one had ever seen such an adorable specimen in the state of Texas (ID 2, TX 1).

Despite Melissa gaining little over 20 lbs during her pregnancy, Pepito Jettito was a healthy 7.25 lbs/19.5 inches.  The C-Section went very well and according to the wife, this is by far her easiest recovery.  Our quest in becoming a gigantic cliche is near complete (tramp in the backyard, marriage at an unwise age, a multitude of children before reaching 35, etc.).

While the name Jimmer was heavily considered (please know I kid), we ended up going with Xavier and Deacon's name suggestion (not kidding about this).  We asked them months ago when, we found out we'd be having a boy, what name they liked and the two droogs said, "Jett".  Many were weighed but Jett won-out.  David is for Melissa's uncle who we think very highly of and whose family was a great example to us when we were newly married and living in Boise (go Broncos).

The demeanor of this child is chill thus far, but as we've discovered with Deacon (aka the Rotta Motta), this can lead to mischievous behavior down the road.  Both X and Deacon are SO excited as evidenced in some of the pictures below.  At random moments both will tell you how much they love Jett and that they think he's "the cutest baby in the whole entire world".  The Tres Deliquentes have arrived.

As I sit here with Melissa sleeping with Jett snuggled up next to her, I'm so grateful for her toughness and her natural ability to mother.  When dating, I asked her what she was passionate about.  Without hesitation she stated, "kids".  I couldn't have thought of a better response.  If you can't appreciate Melissa beyond her more obvious outer-beauty I challenge you to a fight.  My tiny fists of fury will strike with speed and precision.

Enjoy the pictures and there are certainly many more to come.  Thanks for all of your calls, emails, texts, Facebooks, pages, telegrams, etc.

I'm so glad you posted these pictures. That entire day is such a blur in my memory. I get teary eyed just looking at the pure joy on Xavier and Deacon's face as they saw their new little brother. We have three kids now...holy crap.
