We had such a fun 4th this year. It was HOT. We started out with the parade at Market ST which was really fun but I didn't realize how loud those fire engines and ambulances would be for little Jett so we left early and took the boys to see Cars 2. Later we went to our friends for a BBQ and then went to the pavilion to hear the Houston Symphony play patriotic pieces. What we missed the most: Fireworks!! No fireworks were allowed because of the drought this year. We missed waking up early for the 5K and swimming at the Bell's pool in Cali. We are making new memories and traditions being here on our own in Texas and even though we miss our families like crazy we have met so many great friends here and it's starting to feel more and more like home!
