Over the past couple of weeks Xavier has been turning his head when I go to kiss him on the lips, forcing me to settle for his cheek. I finally asked him what was so wrong with me kissing him on the lips and he replied, "If we kiss on the lips, that means we're married. You are already married to Daddy and I never want to be married. That's why." Sad. He's growing up.
I was making breakfast this morning and Xavier said, "It's hard to have kids. You always have to do busy stuff." I just laughed because I never thought he noticed all the stuff I did and just took it for granted.
We were at the Aquarium yesterday. Xavier pointed to a Lion Fish, leaned over to his cousin Austin and said, "That's my Mom's favorite kind of fish." I told him like 6 months ago that I love Lion fish and have never talked about it since. I love that he remembered.
"Why did Heavenly Father make the earth like a circle? The people who live on the bottom are walking around upside down!"
I made whole wheat buttermilk pancakes this morning instead of the usual toaster waffles. Here are a few of the things Xavier said in between bites..."Mom, you are the best cooker ever! This is super duper duper yummy!" and my favorite was,"Mom, I really love you so much when you make me such delicious pancakes!"
Q went in to say good night to the boys and he told Xavier that since tomorrow is Monday, he'd have to go back to work. Xavier gave him a big hug and said "I'll think about you always."
The other morning Q was getting ready for work and Xavier said, "Hey Dad, maybe you don't have to go to work anymore. I have enough toys."
"Hey mom, when are you getting a baby in your belly? When I get married I want to have eight babies...mostly boys and one girl so she can sing songs and make us lunch."
"I don't have to go to school Mom. My head is full. If I learn more stuff I could get a head ache."
While playing Candy Land together the other day he said, "Mom....do you ever get tired of losing?"
While in his car seat the other day Xavier shouted out excitedly, "Oh my gosh, Mom! I have hair on my legs! I'm growing up like Daddy!"
Impressed with his little brother's growing vocabulary, Xavier announced to me, "Mom! Deacon is speaking English!"
We were driving in the car the other day and out of the blue he says, "Mom, I love your heart."
Deacon was napping and Xavier was watching a cartoon. I decided to do some laundry which is across the courtyard to our apartment. I grabbed the basket and said "Hey buddy, I need to go do some laundry. I'll be right back." X looked up casually from his cartoon and said, "OK Mom, call me if you need me."
"Hey Mommy, I need to get a job at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride so I can go to Disneyland when it's closed."
Me: " ...because I'm the boss!" X: "No, Daddy's the boss. But it's okay Mommy, you can pretend. "
Q was tucking Xavier in the other night and he grabbed his neck and pulled his face close and said, "I don't want you to go to work, Daddy. We don't need more money. Just snuggle for me a little while." (Q about died.)
Xavier: "Green is my favorite color, Mom." Me: "Why?" Xavier: "Because it fills my heart with happy."
I woke up this morning with his cute little face just inches from mine. In a soft little voice he said, "Wake up sleepy head. I just looked out my window and it's going to be a beautiful day today!" (Where do they get this stuff?)
Deep thoughts by Deaks
Deacon is two now and he has a lot to say. He makes us laugh out loud when we hear such adult phrases coming from such a small person.
"Hey Mommy, see this scratch? (points to the smallest little red mark on his leg). "Xavier did this. We call the police and they come and throw him in jail, OK Mommy? Sounds like a plan?"
"Chill out guys!"
"You've got to be kidding me, babe!" (this said while hitting his palm to his forehead).
"A big boy bed is super cool. I'm super cool too."
"I don't like big puppy doggies....just the itsy-bitsy tiny ones".
"I'm not Deacon! I BATMAN!"
"Mom, I need privacy...shut the door."
"Sorry Mommy, there's just a tiny bit of pee pee in my undies....just a tiny bit."
The other morning he asked me "Did you have good nigh-nights Mommy? Cuz your hair looks crazy."
I am constantly cleaning up after his messes, but I have to be sneaky. He doesn't like me to pick up his toys. "Mom, I am so frustrated at you. Stop cleaning my stuff! I just want to play a little bit!"
"Just snuggle me for a tiny while!"
"Holy cow, no way!"
While wrestling with Q before bed, Deacon stopped mid tackle and grabbed Q's face and said "I very like you Daddy!"
"Mommy, I really like hummus. It's really nummers!"
"Buzz Lightyear is my favorite guy, but Batman is so cool too."
He's always surprising me with his ever growing vocabulary. He uses words like actually, probably, supposed, frustrated, and relaxing.
He is still my biggest fan always giving me compliments throughout the day even if I'm in sweats and a ponytail. Why do they have to grow up? I wish I could freeze him at this exact age forever.

my phone fell in the toilet at target. Call me sometime cuz my contacts are gone AGAIN.
that is so cute. I love how he grabs his drink in the middle of the head banging. What a doll, he reminds me so much of my 4 year old.
Tod and I just watched this video yet again and agree it may be the cutest thing...no, coolest thing we've ever seen. So funny.
